High Line

Day one exploring. We made it to B&H photo before we found the High Line. Wow and was it ever crowded. Oh Yeah, I'm in New York. What an awesome thing they did coming up with trail out of an old railroad grade. I think about what people can do when they put their minds to and do creative.
We were out all day. By the time we got home at 8 or 9, I can't remember but I crashed. Whoa!

Grand Central Station

What an event to finally get to New York!! 2am shuttle, 7am flight, cramped, I thought it would never end. Nice bus ride to Grand Central Station where someone was getting married. I almost didn't post this because it's blurry but then I thought it adds to the ambiance.

Yard Art

I found this as I was walking the dogs this am. This is fun to see as it is functional too. I love this kind of stuff.
I don't think you call it statuary.

Rock

Here is another example of something you see everyday but don't really notice. I think the orange flowers are poppies and to my defense are not in bloom all year. This was shot outside near Traci and Yvette's mailbox.

Sculpture

This week's subject in Humanities class is sculpture. I've been wanting to photograph this "sculpture" for a while now but today I really had reason too. I have to write about a sculpture. This is in a small park by Anacortes' airport. It's named after John and Doriz Tursi. I drive by it when I take this way home or to work from Traci's house. I don't get sculpture, just saying.

Door

It's a California Poppy door. This door belongs to Gumball and Golfball.

Pink

Again this is an example of walking by something everyday and never really paying close attention to it. This is a flowering bush outside my roommates place in Anacortes. It could be that it is in bloom that it caught my attention today. I like it do much just as is no special effects.

Happy

This car has happy written all over it. It reminds me of the hat I like to wear. Do think this car songs a happy tune too?

Country

Well I took this photo yesterday but forgot to post it, ooops!! Tim and I went out to look at some cabinets and the is the side of this guy's shed. All the tools remind me of a good western. At first I thought it was too dark but without any changes to it, I like it just the way I shot it.

A Bug's View

What can I say but "It's a jungle out there". I was outside admiring the growth of our lawn and was inspired to take this photo. I think I enhanced it with the vibrant tool on photo shop express.

New path

I just love this photo app my husband Tim turned me onto. It enhances the photos snd they are just vivid. I took this specially for him today. This is a trail we love to mtn bike and haven't really since our dog Chester Lou died. Today I took my foster puppy, Diego, out for a ride and I found this area that is always a bog, wet and muddy, even in the summer and look at it now. My mother in law,Louise, told me tonight this was a collaboration of efforts by the trails committee and the US park service to make this wonderful path over that bog!!! It's gorgeous!! And Yvette, Diego is one pooped pup, happy but worn out.

Self Portrait

This is not such a pretty picture. It's distorted and odd looking. I took it looking down on my lady Houch. I once saw a program on television of a woman who had anorexia and took photos of herself to help her with dealing with her disease. This is what gave me this idea.

Water Way

OK, humor me with this. Today we had breakfast with TJ at this place with this structure outside. The funny part is the sign. Because if you think about it the kind of person, below the age of 2, is the kind of person that would find this place most appealing to enjoy. But look at the warning sign. Would anyone under the age of 2 be able to read this? Just Saying.

Game Night

We got together at our friends, Traci and Yvette's house tonight with an additional 3 couples. Yvette and Traci put on a big taco spread and then we all played cranium. Look who's wiped out after a night of activity. Diego!

An Apple A Day

On my way home today I saw this in someone's yard. It's different, really??
An apple in a bird bath. I still like it.

Have A Seat

I took my canine friends to Washington Park this morning for a change. And I saw this. What struck me was the path off to the right of bench. I wish I could photograph how good it smelled today.

Really?

This is the first time I noticed I could see water from the hospital parking lot. I've only been working here six years now. This is looking east, the emergency entrance is to the left and Fidalgo Care Center is on the right.

Just Another Sunny Day

I woke up after eight glorious hours of sleep. I went out with Diego today so we could run. I loved this picture the best because of the contrasts and reflections.

Rebuilt Bridge

I took my favorite two pals out this am and did the Anacortes Forest Lands hike. Someone or some people are doing at fabulous job at maintaining and taking care of these trails. This is of a bridge they've redone. It was just perfect this am too.

Break Time

I was able to sit down for a cup of coffee and a snack for the first time last night at 2:45am. It wasn't crazy busy, just steady. I usually just snack while I am working. Usually a granola bar, yogurt, protein shake and a piece of fruit, keeps me going until cereal for breakfast, then bed. Ahhhh!!

Let There Be Light

Look Cody!! We have lights! It's really a process and we've started our kitchen remodel from the ceiling and we're working our way down. It's really bright in the kitchen now.

Sprouts

I've got little sprouts growing. The ones on the left are tomatoes and the ones on the right are basil, I think. So it's the catnip that isn't sprouting yet. Tim is working on the raised bed outside but it's still too cold to plant anything. Next is lettuce.
