Routine #4

Today the only thing I had to do was exercise. I've gotten better about keeping my commitment to myself to get in shape. So far i have four routines and #1 doesn't count(too basic)This photo is of the equipment I am using currently. It's so simple, well until you start actually working those muscles, breathing hard and sweating all over the place. Watch out Lady Hooch, your days are numbered.

Catalyst

It would only cost a little over $8000 for two people to take a 10 day cruise through the inside passage aboard this beautiful vessel, all inclusive of course.
Someday.

Room 10

I am still at work and decided to take a photo of "Room 10". My husband said I didn't show him this room when I gave him the tour of our ER. So here it is hunny. We use this room for intoxicated people who are belligerent or psych patients who might be a danger to themselves or others. It has a lock on the outside and nothing on the inside they can harm themselves with. I thought the glass door was shatter proof but as it turns out its not. I had a guy one night who put his fist through it. Also it serves as our decontamination room. It has a shower head, a drain and a back door to let them in so they don't contaminate anyone else. Now you know about Room 10.

Extra Large

I struggled with tonight's photo until Mimi and Jennifer, my coworkers, offered to help me out with this one. I am so embarrassed when I see these ginormous wheelchairs and think to myself "How have we let ourselves become so obese?"

Bee?

I discovered this little guy today when I got ready to take the dogs for walk. Diego spotted it first because it was moving but really sluggish like. So slow I picked him up without a problem and put him outside and then took a picture of him. It was really difficult getting a clear picture up close. I enhanced this with photoshop express to see it better.

Skyline Marina

This view is so gorgeous and I get to ride by it twice a day. Slower on my way back to Traci's because I'm pedaling uphill. I just couldn't get a picture that captured the real beauty or feel of what I was seeing so I played with photo express and came up with this.

Your Own Backyard

I stay at my friends home in Anacortes while I work and I am going on my 4th year of staying here. I really just noticed this garden that divides her place and her neighbors. With so many "spring" flowers in bloom, it caught me by surprise that I noticed this. It's bamboo cropped, rocks and an evergreen.

Pondering Life

I am riding my bike in to work today and cant help but notice how gorgeous out it is. I notice people mowing their lawns, children laughing and just a feeling that permeates "spring in the air". It's so delicious it tastes a lot like a latte. Mmmmmmmm!!

Germinating

Today I have completed my boost of energy as Suzie Green Thumb. These are my seeds growing in Burpee's compostable containers. I planted tomatoes, basil and catnip. 5-7 days and I should be able to take off the plastic wrap. This is very exciting.

Chester

This is my marble that John Svenson made of Chester's ash. Actually he made one too large for me to wear as a necklace so he made me another but it took 3 tries so now I will be able to give one to each of my kids.

Starting Out Small

I really love my own planted tomatoes to the store bought ones. So here we go, one packet of seeds, some starter containers and soil.

Border

I had lots of appointments and errands this am so I only took the dogs, Maddy and Diego around the block but that's when I saw this inventive landscaping border. I love it because it's uneven and off kilter just enough to make it not ordinary. And it concrete. Which I am thinking is inexpensive.

Rainbow over FH

Wow! Just as I was leaving to get on the ferry and head back to work in Anacortes, I saw this rainbow! While I was waiting for the ferry to unload I was bathed in sunshine and pelleted with some icy snow. Just another glorious day in the San Juan's. It's good to be home!!!

Day 9- Back Home

We woke up extra early this Daylight savings day to catch a shuttle to Utah's airport. We flew home and caught another shuttle, then a ferry and you would think I could have taken a picture today, somewhere, but no. The pile of our holiday laundry was not as gorgeous as this picture taken from a balcony sitting area from our hotel on our last night yesterday. Mmmmmm, but glad to be home.

Day 8-Last Run

Amazing! We skied or boarded for 6 days and it's hard to believe it's time to go home. This picture I took is of the bumps off the lift called Sugarloaf. I love skiing the bumps except when they're as tall as me, then I don't like them. Our longest lift line today was 5 minutes long. GEEZ! And it's a Saturday. We each had an americano
mid mountain and I saw this cute little baby with ski goggles. He later was placed in a ski pack on dad's back and went along for the ride. Come to think of it he was about the height of bumps I like to ski. But one day I am sure Nicholas will be zooming past me.

Day 7-Utah Day 1-Alta

What an amazing place and we got to the top of Alta from the top of Snowbird. I didn't get near the spectacular photos that Tim did today. I did want to mention this photo however, SLOW, is very subjective. I have never seen the speed police out on the slopes enforcing this precaution. I just think it's funny that I go by these signs and slow down to what I think slow is and someone else zooms by me going what they think slow is. I played with this photo with photoshop express to make it more dramatic. Guess where we're going tomorrow. We're getting up early for this one.

Day 6-Again?

Yesterday was fun and I thought I was getting the hang of boarding. Only Tim had me convinced I was a regular foot and not goofy foot. Well I switched feet and started out this am boarding on my head. It didn't really work out for me. So I had the rental shop switch it again and went back out on my one lift and one run of the day that took me all day. I didn't want to give up but when you ride your butt more than your board its time to rethink things. I decided since the only thing on my body that doesn't hurt is my belly fat It was time to cry uncle. Oh and fingertips don't hurt.

Day 5-Board not Bored

Today we decided to take it easy so we went snowboarding. K For me, I was sweating, out of breath, and now have a skate board injury to match Tim's. (That's him ahead of me on the chair lift.) I can't wait to see the bruises tomorrow. But guess what? I am going back for more tomorrow because it was a blast. We topped it off tonight with a snowboarding video, and a entertaining bartender from Maryland. I had more fun watching him scramble to fill all the orders from the restaurant, the lounge and then a few of us at the bar. Amazing.

Day 4-Peruvian Tunnel

Who Knew? At the top of "Peruvian Express", one of the chair lifts there is this tunnel you can take through the mountain. Yeah! Just in case you don't want to go over the mountain to the other side you can go through it. Today we did. It's a conveyor belt. What a hoot. Today was difficult to see because of the overcast but it's dumping tonight and we're pumped about tomorrow's snow.

Day 3 Utah-Day 1 Skiing

Look who looks "like a kid in a candy store"? We had a great first day skiing in spite of Utah's lack of hospitality. Today was a gorgeous day to explore the mountain. My favorite was when we discovered how to get to Alta's ski mountain without having to ask anyone. Awesome!!

Day 2 Utah-Acclimating

Wow, we are here, Snowbird Lodge. Tim survived the plane ride without incident and I survived the van ride up the canyon without losing my breakfast. Today we acclimated to the elevation and discovered our surroundings. In other words we took a nap and ate. This is a photo from the open sitting area looking up at some rooms and down at some dining.
Weather forecast is sunny tomorrow. That's good because I like seeing where I am skiing.

Day 1 Utah

We started our journey last night actually by packing. I'm pretty sure we remembered everything. Today we walked on the Sealth, our ferry to Anacortes and hurried to the airporter shuttle, which took us to Burlington where we boarded a bigger shuttle that dropped us at SeaTac Airport.
We took the Link into downtown Seattle and found a place to eat. Tap House Grill. They boast 160 beers on tap. We were looking for a particular bookstore when we saw this building.
I played with photoshop express for the first time and viola I love this photo.

Happy Birthday Cody

Today is my son's 19th birthday and
I am sure he will tell you he hates this sculpture but I love it because he made it and it will always remind me of him!!

Parking Only 4 Norwegians

This picture was taken in my housemate's neighborhood. It appears a Norwegian may be selling this camper trailer on the right. I didn't know that until I walked by it while walking the puppies this am then I went up to it and saw this sign. I love it. This looks like a good size trailer. I was curious of the price. $14000.
