George, Wait!

Do they get rained out or are they making a mad dash while the getting is good? Either way this rainy weather has brought them out and if you watch closely they are moving.

Golden Hour

I went with my husband down to the harbor so he could get a great photo. All I wanted was something chocolate. So I palled along and got this photo and some Hagen Dazs. It's a win win.

Purple Balls

Sometimes you have nothing more than flora and fauna. I played with photoshop express again and this is what I came up with "a border".

Everett Amtrak Depot

I took this waiting for a train arrival yesterday. Tweaked it with PS Express and viola. Cool place to wait for a train.

Flocked

I read about this. Someone has been flocked. It's like sending flowers only these are people you hire to plant a flock of flamingos in your special persons yard. I love it.

Church

I was thinking this morning after I got off work how I've not been real consistent about my photo blogging. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. When this popped up into my visual field. My photo of the day. It's a church on Commercial across the street from the Donut House.

Baker

How about this? Just before sunrise. This is looking out the ambulance doors at island hospital at Mt Baker. Every pic I took has that lamp post on top of the mountain peak.

Really? I am not a car person but these old cars are sooooo cool. OK Ferries are cooler but those pics didn't turn out like this one did.

Clematis

K, This was yesterday's photo taken at the Master Gardeners garden which I think is part of the WSU extension. Anyway one day I would love a trellis with these little guys welcoming me home. I thought they were fragrant but they aren't.

Birds

Once upon Cody's life he made this birdhouse and I remember having it up once before but I think the wind blew it down. I rehung it sometime ago, can't remember that either. But yesterday I saw a bird fly into it. We have a bird resident. So exciting. This is a profile shot of our shed, look up.

I actually saw this on my way to work yesterday. I went back this am and it was still there. I do love being home!!

Transition

Today was bills, mowing our overgrown lawn, shaving the forest that grew on my legs, etc. This is back to New York and "were we really on holiday"?

G'Bye NY

Our last day in NewYork. We made somewhat of a valiant effort to stay a few more days but it wasn't in the cards. So we hung out at Grand Central Terminal. I've decided to write one of my art critiques on it so Tim and I walked around the building. Here is one last building I shot on my week of architecture overload. This is a building across the street and had the Chrysler Building in the background. Not sure what it is except cool.

Riverside Park

Ah, Geez!! Another wonderful day in New York. We went looking for a bike rental place. We stopped for a marvelous lunch on the water and then
Walked along the park on the west side with the Hudson river as our backdrop.
We managed to do everything free in NY.

City Bus

Public Transit!!!! Why would you want to drive? Such freedom to go anywhere. Today we spent most of our time in Central Park walking but we took a bus to get there. We took buses to get back. We took the subway to Brooklyn and a subway back. We were all over so efficiently. All go a mere fee of $29 for the week. Bargains!!

Brooklyn & Liberty

Today we went to the Brooklyn Bridge. They are doing construction on it so half of it was covered in this metal sheeting. It rained a little today also. But if you look closely lady liberty is in the background. The subway ride was the other adventure on our way back home. We made it.

Pale Male

Today we made our way to Central Park via Bryant Park where today was a peaceful protest for occupy NewYork. That was fun and uneventful. Once we made it to Central Park it didn't take long to find the stair of Balto and then Pale Male's nest. We even spotted him flying around. We heard there are eggs to hatch and maybe one has but no confirmation on that. The building that is the second from the left has his nest on the middle highest window awning. Amazing!!!

Buildings

John turned me onto to this shot. He noticed the older, smaller buildings you see in the front with the taller high rises in the back. The one on the right is named the lipstick building. This was the start of our day to Battery Park, Wall Street and the subway. We ended it with Rock Of Ages and Time Square.
